Claire Armitage's work is about capturing of a sense of place, exploring our complex interconnectivity with nature and the wild. Working from her studio in Cornwall, Claire’s surroundings inspire much of her work. Her prints are rich in lyrical narrative, blending floral, avian and nautical imagery with literary references to poetry and folklore. There is a story behind the artwork, adorning each of Claire’s luxurious silk scarves, clutch bags, purses, silk covered brooches, cotton canvas bags and limited-edition prints. Claire has also worked as a freelance costume designer and as lecturer at Falmouth University and Truro and Penwith College.
